It served the ancient warriors during warfare. It protected the warriors and allowed them to defend themselves against sharp bladed swords.

In the modern days, medieval armor is not a protection for the warriors. Rather, it is used for several other purposes. Most commonly, it is used as a cosplay weapon or a cosplay necessity.
When the cosplayers need to represent ancient warriors such as medieval knights, they can wear this armor to express themselves and play their characters. It works as a costume for them.
